(Good art lifts the human spirit, and helps us to move beyond daily routine to higher thoughts and feelings. We may use a picture, icon, statue, or other image to remind us of Mary and her life of obedient service to God. We ask her to pray for us, and we join our praises with those of the Church in heaven. We may say this prayer when an artistic image of Mary is put in a place of honour in our home.)
Lord Jesus,
we love you,
and ask your strength and grace
as we try to follow you each day.
Bless this image of Mary our mother,
and help us to imitate her
in loving and serving you.
Lord Jesus,
we praise you for ever.
Amen.
