The existing prayer library
The 2,192 published prayers were preserved from this website's public WordPress export on 28 October 2026. Their original URLs and substantive wording are retained. Migration does not amount to a new editorial or theological review of every text.
Historical saints and reflections
The dated January–December text is from the Butler/Benziger Lives of the Saints, with Reflections for Every Day in the Year, a nineteenth-century devotional collection. It provides a reading for all 366 month-and-day dates. Its language, traditional narratives and feast dates reflect its period. The later undated appendix, modern introductions, cover artwork and publisher layout are excluded.
The underlying nineteenth-century text is in the public domain in the United States. A modern transcription can contain errors; we welcome corrections. Source edition and transcription · 1894 bibliographic record.
General Roman Calendar
Calendar data for 2026–2030 was generated by Fr. John R. D'Orazio's Liturgical Calendar API (Apache 2.0). Data is bundled with this site: browsing does not call the external API. Settings: civil year, English, Epiphany on 6 January, Ascension Thursday, Corpus Christi Thursday. It includes the celebrations and optional memorials returned by that source. Recent additions for Saint John Henry Newman and Saint Teresa of Calcutta are checked against their Holy See decrees and included where liturgical precedence allows. Your national, diocesan, parish or religious-order calendar may differ. Historical readings are displayed separately and do not override liturgical precedence.
Liturgical Calendar Project · Apache 2.0 licence. Future calendar updates require a source-data refresh and deployment; the site will not silently present an unsupported year as current.

Novena of the day
A private-devotion recommendation drawn from this site's existing prayers. Featured fixed-date devotions may be suggested during the nine days before a feast; otherwise suggestions rotate. There is no official universal "novena of the day" and no guaranteed outcome. The prayer's own instructions take precedence over the optional personal tracker.
